Plot[]
A construction crew has reached the halfway point in their big project: a suspension bridge from New York to France. I.R. Baboon is working as an assistant to the lead engineer. The lead engineer compliments Baboon's work so far, and says that the bridge will be completed in 7 more years. But, at that moment, a comet flies into Earth's atmosphere, hits the lead engineer, and carries him away into space. Baboon says that construction on the bridge must continue, and they can't wait for the comet to return with the lead engineer. Baboon decides to take over the project so he can get all the credit. While he does his victory dance, a nearby Navy ship notices the bridge's construction has stopped. The captain, Admiral Bullets, immediately calls for I.M. Weasel to come in and lead the rest of the construction project.
Weasel, having just donated a kidney to a sick child, receives the call from Admiral Bullets, explaining the situation. Weasel agrees to the job, and heads off to New York. By the time he arrives, Baboon is still doing his victory dance. The other workers cheer for Weasel, which makes Baboon angry. He gets angrier when Weasel modifies the construction plans, setting the crew on track to finish the bridge by that very evening. Baboon tries sabotaging the project by drawing an Eiffel tower diagram in the path of the bridge. After the workers build it, a few of the other workers take this to mean that they have reached France, and run into the ocean by mistake trying to get closer. Weasel tells the remaining workers to push the tower over, adding length to the bridge. Baboon then swims over to a nearby cruise ship, tosses the captain overboard, then paints an inviting beach scene onto the boat. More of the workers leave, lured by the fake beach and bikini-clad ladies. Weasel decides to swim to France himself, hire some workers there, and finish the bridge on schedule. But, when he gets there, the President of France tells Weasel that he is not willing to loan French construction workers to the project. In fact, France no longer wants the bridge's landing in their country. They say that Americans are "polluting their fromage."
With Weasel gone, Baboon quickly starts building the rest of the bridge on his own, but in his excitement, builds deeper into the ocean and ends up turning away from the French coast. When he finally resurfaces, he builds the last of the bridge on a coast, and cars begin using the bridge immediately, running Baboon over. But, he soon realizes the end of the bridge is in Mexico. The President of France thanks Weasel for "his" new plan, a bridge to Mexico that also has a car wash. Despite Weasel trying to correct him, the President of France awards Weasel the French Prize: a trophy full of baguettes. I.R., still at the end of the bridge in Mexico, reads about this development, and is angry that Weasel got credit for all his hard work. In a rage, he punches and throws around oncoming cars. Baboon manages to calm down, but is then smushed by one of the cars he launched into the air.
